BYE - LAWS

  1.  Short title and Commencement
  1. These bye-laws may be called the Saugor Cantonment  (Erection or Re-erection of Buildings) By- laws, 1978.

  2. They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the official Gazette.

  2.  Notice of erection or re-erection of buildings ---

  1. Every person interesting to erect or re-erect a building shall give notice in writing to the Cantonment Executive Officer, under section 179 of the Cantonments Act, 1924 (2 of 1924), in the Form specified in the Appendix ‘A’ to these by-laws and he shall at the same times submit the following document in the duplicate, in case the site is situated inside the Notified Civil Area and the Bazar Area of the Cantonment or to triplicate if the site is under the management of the Military Estates Officer (one copy being on tracing cloth), duly signed by him or by his agent namely :-

  •  A site plan in distinctive color of the land on which it is intended to erect or re-erect the building;

  • A plan of the building, elevation and the cross-section which it is proposed to erect or re-erect together with a plan of the existing building. If any, showing all platforms, balconies and other projections existing thereon, and

  • Specifications or details required in the Form specified in Appendix ‘B’ to these bye-laws.

  1. Copies of Forms specified in Appendix ‘A’ and Appendix ‘B’ may be supplied by the Cantonment Board Office on payment of 50 paise for each Form.

  3. Distinctive colours of all works:-

     All new works shall be indicated on the plans in the distinctive color and a key to the color used thereon shall be indicated as detailed below :-

                         Existing work- Black colour

                         Proposed work- Red colour

                    Demolition work- Yellow colour

  4. Preparation of plans:-

    All plans shall be prepared by a qualified draftman duly licenced by the Board in this behalf.

  5. Site Plan :-

  1. A detailed dimensioned site plan shall be drawn to a scale of not less than 1 meter to 1 kilometer and the scale used shall be marked on the plan.

  2.  The site plan shall clearly show:-

  • The direction of the North point.

  • The boundaries of the site on which it is proposed to erect or re-erect the building.

  • The position of the proposed building on the site and of all adjacent building, streets, vacant land and drains showing distance from the proposed building.

  • The names, if any, and which of all streets on which the site abate together with the municipal numbers, if any, of the adjo8ining houses or promises.

  • The line of frontage of adjoining buildings, if any.

  • The position of drains showing the manner in which the roof and house drainage water shall be discharged.

  • The position of all electricity wiring and poles, telephone poles, public hydrant and trees within six meter of the boundaries of the site.
